Heading for a circular polyester production chain

The mission of Cumapol is to become the most sustainable thermoplastic polyester production facility in the world by combining the different recycling technologies, closing the polyester loop and producing high performance polyesters without using fossil based chemicals. We are continuously expanding and improving our processes and know-how based on mechanical recycling of PCR bottle grades. Because mechanical recycling has the highes CO₂ reduction figures we are also exploring mechanical recycling of other polyester waste streams like polyester textiles and carpets. 

Next level in circularity
The next step is the start of our  CuRe (Polyester Rejuvenation Technology) project, this technology makes it possible to use bio-based monomers to even further reduce the CO₂ footprint of polyester. Our ultimate goal is a polyester with a zero CO₂ footprint.
