When we started Cumapol in 2010, I already had more than 20 years of experience with polymers and application development.
Using my experience to translate the product properties into the chemical composition of our custom-made polyesters is what I like most about my job, especially in close cooperation with our customers.
Besides product development, we are also searching for new ways to make our company even more sustainable. I was part of a team that pioneered the recycling of polymers in Europe back in 1996. Nowadays, we are not just recycling; we are ‘upcycling’. That means the recycled raw material is a custom-made polyester with a higher performance than that of the original raw material, making it more versatile and, therefore, more environmentally friendly.
In addition to our goals for a more sustainable company, it is also important to help people improve their lives beyond our own immediate environment. That is why I am the chairman of a foundation that financially supports projects of general interest in the village of Dian, Kei-Kecil, Indonesia.
